As for the preservation of heat I can not say, I do not need it, but I think that a maximum of 2 hours will hold. If you have a microwave at work-take, soup will report without loss. I did not like that the elastic band was painted with soup and absorbed the smell, I think now how to wash, the elastic band by the way is removed if necessary.
